You Can Have A Great Time In Delray Beach Florida

By Jony Mozen

Delray Beach is a popular tourist destination on the US coast of the Atlantic Ocean. This vibrant resort is just fifteen miles from Palm Beach International Airport and less than thirty miles from Fort Lauderdale International Airport. The town boasts over two miles of pristine, sandy beaches on the coast of South Florida.

This coastal area has a wide range of attractions. There are many fine restaurants in Delray Beach Florida, including the Caribbean cuisine at the Cabana, Italian flavours at the Caffe Luna Rosa and the Bird Nest Tree oriental eatery. Culture vultures can enjoy the displays at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Birdwatchers and nature lovers can explore the Wakodahatchee Wetlands wildlife area.

Atlantic Avenue is sometimes referred to as the Main Street of this village-by-the-sea. It presents diverse boutiques and stores in addition to more high-quality dining combined with a vibrant nightlife. The side streets leading away from Atlantic Avenue and Pineapple Grove in particular, are home to numerous live music spots. The downtown area benefits from one of the warmest winter climates in America, making it the perfect setting for al fresco art fairs and exhibitions.

Tourists and residents alike can get around downtown Delray on a free trolley car. Golf carts also provide convenient transport through the neighbourhood. There are some striking Art Deco buildings set amongst the tree-lined streets.

The beautiful, unsoiled and fairly quiet Atlantic Dunes Park area is perfect for swimmers and anglers to enjoy the crystal-clear waters. Visitors may like to stroll along the nature trails that wind gently through the sea-grass and sand-dunes. The shoreline is protected by lifeguards and police patrols. Some impressive hotels are located close by, including Breakers on the Ocean, Crane's BeachHouse Hotel and Tiki Bar and Wright By The Sea.

One of the state's leading art galleries is to be found at 180 Northeast 1st Street, namely the Arts Garage. This distinguished venue provides a number of attention-grabbing modes of entertainment. People on vacation can happily bring food and drink of their own. Gifted entertainers and artists set the Arts Garage apart, forming a focus for Florida's fine arts and recital communities. Critics all comment on the excellent views available from any of the theatre's 150 seats. The welcoming and relaxed atmosphere lends itself perfectly to the preferred jazz and blues musical styles performed here.

The Cornell Museum of Art is another theatre that offers a slice of Broadway in Florida. Children can get involved in creating their own art here, whilst adults take in some magnificent water colours. The museum is set in a charming old school building which has been lovingly restored to its 1913 glory. Many innovative artists display in this inexpensive venue. Another multi-media gallery at 777 E. Atlantic Avenue is the Art Arena Gallery. Fans of the arts can also visit the S. D. Grady Cultural Heritage Museum dedicated to collections of stories and pictures of the town's founding fathers.

Delray is part of the Miami metropolitan area in the Palm Beach County. This section of the Everglades is also central to Florida's Gold Coast district. The hard courts of the local Tennis Centre host the ATP World Tour Delray International Tennis Championships.
