Jamaica Family Resorts All Inclusive Tips

By Barbara Lee

It can be tough to find a vacation that appeals to every member of the family. While parents may wish some peace and quiet, kids prefer to run around and be entertained every waking hour. Budgeting for restaurants in a new town and catering for the sometimes selective palate of a child also can cause headaches. Travel to Jamaica family resorts all inclusive and these worries will disappear.

This pretty island in the Caribbean offers a wide range of activities, sight-seeing and beauty spots. The coast boasts glorious sandy beaches where you can enjoy any number of water sports, while inland there are old sugar plantations to explore and rain forests filled with exotic flora and fauna. The main tourist hot spots are in the north; Montego Bay, Runaway Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios are the most popular and feature a superb choice of hotels to suit every need.

When you are travelling with children, the transfer time from the airport to your chosen hotel can be a deciding factor. Children who are tired and grumpy after a long flight will be even grumpier after a 4 hour coach ride to the resort. There are two main airports which serve the island, Kingston and Montego Bay, so try to book so that you fly into the one nearest your chosen destination.

Wherever you choose to visit, there are many sites and activities on hand should you wish to explore outside your complex. A particular favorite with visitors is Dunn's River Falls which is located close to Ocho Rios. Centrally located Montego Bay is ideal a base to explore from having the added benefit of being close by the airport, however there are fewer all inclusive options in this area than for example Negril.

Whichever area you choose, the beaches are long, sandy and offer opportunities for all manner of water based activities. Hotels will often offer some of these as part of your package. Their website should have a list of facilities on-site and a note of what is included.

The Caribbean is a great place to try scuba diving as the water is clear and warm and there is much to see under the waves. This is not normally included in hotel activities so would be an additional cost. You could also contact a local dive center before booking to check prices and availability.

Your budget will probably influence which hotel you pick in the resort area you have selected. Obviously facilities and quality of food will vary according to the price of the accommodation, but careful research can unearth bargains at hotels that have all the amenities you could wish for. Internet sites where previous customers describe their experience can be invaluable.

The majority of properties will have baby sitting services, regular nightly entertainment, kids clubs and even a water park. There are even hotels where the children's entertainment is based on a well known TV show. Some hotels have offers for families such as upgrades to suites of free places for a 3rd child so you are bound to find a great deal on this glorious island paradise.
