Delray Beach Florida Has That Extra Something

By Jony Mozen

Describing the aspects of a town that create a homely feeling is a difficult task. Seldom will several individuals reach agreement regards this complicated issue, however, certain towns are attracting more attention. The trend reveals Delray Beach Florida to be amongst those attracting an increasing number of resident dwellers.

Some aspects will always be intangible issues arising from individual feelings and emotions. But certainly physical features such as facilities and infrastructure also play a part. This coastal gem can really hold its own in this department.

In 1910 the number of people living in this area was below one thousand. At present it is slightly above 64000 so clearly there has been growth and for good reason. There are also strong historical groundings from the eighteen hundreds involving Native Americans, and even groups of runaway slaves. Future potential in the area is tangible, and for good reason.

With average temperatures ranging from the mid fifties in winter to a balmy 90 degrees in summer some people say this is reason enough to want to live here. Naturally such a delightful climate lends itself to the miles of public beaches and related water sports such as snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing and fishing. Sport is big here. Golf, tennis and many other sports flourish. An ATP World Tour 250 Series men's tennis tournament is now an annual event.

A network of canals and lakes provide a water based playground for those not keen on the open sea. Property development around this resource is highly developed. There are some stunning housing estates alongside these waterways with new developments ongoing. Commuting to the town centre is very possible by means of the Intracoastal Waterway. The property market is very much alive and well and wide price ranges will suit both newcomers to the market as well as those looking for second or retirement property opportunities.

Many a seaside town has been described as a fun and happy town but how many have the credentials to prove it. Coastal living listed this town amongst the 2015 Happiest Seaside Towns. USA Today and Rand McNally have named it Most Fun Small Town in recent publications and websites.

Development has not taken a back seat either. Medical, education and city management all maintain high standards. More than 50 individual education centers have been established and 7 health centers keep a watch over medical matters. Road and railways tie up easily to the major networks and neighboring city airport facilities provide more than adequate air travel links. The city is well managed yet not over regulated, offering high service level standards.

Of course no Florida town would be complete without an abundance of shops and malls and here residents will not be disappointed. Centers such as Delray Market and The Gardens Mall will provide intensive shopping experiences. A delightful alternative is downtown Atlantic Avenue with its mind boggling number of boutique, jewelry, antique outlets and galleries. Regular festivals, parades and live music provide highlights but for many just taking it easy amongst the bars and clubs is already a highlight.

Many impressions remain regards this place often named the village by the sea. Certainly there is a village type air and sociability about the place. Yet there are also many plus factors of a thriving city worth investigating.
